What a red carpet! The ladies (and gents - hello, George Clooney!) brought their best for last night's Academy Awards. Can we just talk about how insanely gorgeous Michelle Williams looked? I don't think she could have picked a more perfect dress for last night. The red-orange Louis Vuitton gown was the epitome of feminine chic. I loved everything about this look - the pink clutch, the bow-shaped brooch, and, of course, the peplum detail! Best Dressed for sure! Another bright red favorite was Emma Stone's Giambattista Valli gown. How about that bow? White emerged as a key color for the evening with several stars donning the hue. I adored Gwyneth's minimalistic Tom Ford gown. She looked so elegant - doesn't she always? Any favorites? I would love to hear!

I was overall not thrilled with the fashions. My sister in law who works for Vogue said the overall impression from the fashion world unofficially is that they were unimpressed. A few stood out, and I liked 3 of your 4 faves, the first dress I do not at all like but the other 3 are quite pretty.
Its fun to see what everyones choices are.
I loved Michelle Williams dress as well as several others of these. People were giving Emma Stone a hard time for looking too close to another Oscar dress from a few years ago (the actress is evading me right now). But I really couldn't stand Angelina and that leg. I mean, arrogance exuded from her and it kind of irked me.

Meghan - I totally agree with you regarding Angelina's "pose." The dress itself really was beautiful, but I just wish she hadn't continued to pose like that with her leg out.

I really loved Rose Byrne. Her dress didn't really push the envelope but it fit her perfectly and that hair! Gaaaaah! She melts my fave off.
I have to say you've nailed all of my favorites of the night. I wish there was a little more color on the red carpet though!
Overall, I thought everyone looked nice (obviously), but a little bland. There were some exceptions, of course, like Jessica Chastain in McQueen, but there are so many beautiful and interesting gowns out there, I wish we'd seen some more of them on the red carpet.

jessica chastain was definitely a favorite and michelle williams as well as gwyneth. However, did not love tina or emma ... which is unfortunate cause I ALWAYS love emma!!!! But no one could've rocked that Tadashi Shoji like Octavia Spencer ... wow! another of my faves you didn't mention was rose byrne ... not for everyone, but certainly lovely!
I couldn't agree more with your favorite picks. Michelle and Gwyneth were my favorites. They both looked beyond chic.
